We started out our festival and fair season this past weekend with the Central Carolina Fair and Carousel Festival. The fair was a lot of fun for little ones- a $15 wristband with unlimited rides was definitely the way to go. We went early so not crowded. Lots of rides for young children and teenagers alike. Games were really expensive! It also seemed that no matter what we played, $5 got us a pick out of the Medium prize bucket. I kind of miss the days of real skill or luck earning real cool prizes. Oh well. Everyone must feel like a winner these days.
The Carousel Festival was so much fun! If you haven't been before, check it out next year. My son and his companion enjoyed the arts and craft booths, the numerous inflatables and the free carousel, train and boat rides. The 100 year-old carousel is so beautiful and really different from any other ride we know. The food and inflatables were a little pricey in my opinion, so be ready to pay $1 each time your little one goes down the inflatable slide. The other free rides made up for it, though. There was also free music performances, magic shows and other kiddie entertainment. My son learned a little about juggling from one of the performers. This festival has the best Kettle Korn ever! We had to take a huge bag for on-the-way-home munching.
Here are some events for your coming weekend consideration. Get out and enjoy the season.
